  Today marks a big milestone. We have one more month to go before the ALPHA must be ready. The team is busy right now migrating to the new database, but as soon as all the user controls are updated, we'll finish the remaining. Two big ones are waiting: the ContentManager and the MapEditor.   Alex Iskold at Read/Write Web has a review of companies that use web-services as part of their platform/backbone.They list six building blocks of the Web Computing Platform and give an extensive review of companies who offer the components to 3rd parties, like f.x. Amazon S3, and the customer fronting services that use them, like f.x. SmugMug - a photo sharing site. Using the web-platform is at the core of the Second Brain strategy.   Investors are Pushing funding | (0)

  The Second Brain project cost a lot of money - people and resources. And Making Waves is the company that is sponsoring all of this. Of course, this is in many ways an internal project, and it is easier to agree on everything. We are quite fortunate to be able to create a new company from the mother company.   Updating the Top marketing | (0)

  As you can see, we are beefing up the graphics on the blog. It all a part of preparing for spreading the word on Second Brain. As we progress toward the planned releases, you'll see that the blog will gradually leave more room for promoting Second Brain. I've also changed from category view to tag view - a much better way to organize content. And as soon as I have found a way to handle sign-ups and registrations, I will add a "sign-up for updates and early Beta invitations"-button.

  Making Words at Making Waves miscellaneous | (0)

  Check out the guys (and myself) at Making Waves. They have just created their first blog called Making Words (only in Norwegian unfortunately).The name plays at our company name, of course, and it jused to be an e-mail newsletter that I edited for a couple of years. I'm very happy to see that we're upgrading it to a blog. As any new stuff on the web right now, it is a beta project. We'll keep the URL "secret" for a while as we start posting and adding content.   The past few months, after coming home from the US tour, the focus has been on development, of course. We finished the prototype on time, but the scope had been greatly reduced. Our main problem was lack of resources. But this is all solved now - the team is complete (with only a few exeptions), but there is not much stopping us now from getting Second Brain online.
